An aging infrastructure of bridges and dams may be creating a public safety issue, according to the Association of State Dam Safety Officials. Bridges tend to fail after around 62 years, and they may begin losing their structure and stability as they age. Unfortunately, however, many damaged or deteriorated bridges are not reported to the appropriate authorities or are not addressed properly. With as many bridges as there are across the nation, failing infrastructure could have considerable costs in terms of human injury and even death.
