The WSU Tree Fruit Research Center is presently exploring whether different colored nets may be able to change plant climate and growth. There are many cultivars, such as the Honeycrisp apple, that are notoriously fragile and difficult to properly grow. The new findings at WSU may explore an easy, low tech, but effective way to improve growth and yield.
